Speechless Sunday July 24, 2011:Last bloom before the heatwave

I was happy admiring this orange colored bloom and then the heatwave struck. Yes, this was my last bloom; now the garden beds are dry. I tried watering, but, it was a scorcher like I have never seen and the plants wilted.  Will the flowers come out to play again? Or, is this going to be the shortest blooming season I have seen in a while?  In that case, I had better enjoy the last bloom just before the heatwave.

Jennifer, all three of those are spectacular but the middle shot looks like professional material to be displayed at the gallery.  Everything about that one is perfection.  Thank You!

Jennifer  Hope springs eternal, but I'm not so sure that works in a garden - just enjoy the lovely bloom and photo  :)

What perfection that middle shot is. Is the bloom from your garden? It must be a lovely yard.

Glad you captured these beautiful flowers on film!  I can't believe how hot it got.  Maybe sunscreen next time :)

Hi Jennifer,

Absolutely beautiful! Still pretty hot there? I've been in the desert in SoCal now for a few days and it's 96 (& that's the desert) where it's supposed to be even hotter. Hope you're suviving okay!

You got some nice shots there.  Should last a lifetime.  I also lost a plant over the weekend.

Jennifer this weather has not been kind to people or flowers.  Lets hope for a little cooler weather soon.

Thanks for stopping by.

Lisa it rained today and I was very happy.  I might even have grass again to mow :)

Kevin thank you.  I like the drop of water on the far right.

Donna I love photos they say so much.

Karen when it gets that hot a bit of dreaming helps :)

Maya yes from my garden which is now a complete mess.  With the rain today maybe somethings can be salvaged.

Joan don't put ideas into my head, but if it works I sure would apply it to some of my favorite plants :)

Lynda it is back in the 80's and it rained today,; couldn't be happier

Sorry to hear of your plant lost, I think we all lost something.  Hopefully it is all behind us now.

George glad the hot spell finally broke.

Hannah looks like I might get a few more blooms.

Joni it rained today and it looks like a few blooms might make it.

Hi Jennifer.  Nice flowers, every bit as nice as ours in Hawaii.  Wishing you a cooler season for the rest of the Summer.

Aloha!
