Tea Tasting a tea lover's delight in Millerton NY

Tea Tasting in Millerton NY

Harney and Sons Tea room and shop is located in Millerton NY  in Dutchess County.  This is certainly a great asset to the town since it brings in people from all over.

While I was there for tea tasting I met a few people who had travelled several hours to have the experience.  I even heard the story of one man who came across country for the experience although the products are available for purchase on line or in fine stores.

Besides tea tasting you can purchase all sorts of blended teas, teapots  and cups.  There are also many other items to be found throughout the store.

The tea blending and packaging occurs in this facility which I had the opportunity to tour a few years ago.  The Harneys do visit Asia to make sure they are getting the best quality tea.

I was also impressed to see in their catalog that they  joined "1% for the Planet" which means they give 1% of the money derived from sales to environmental organizations.

You don't have to miss out on the experience if you are on the other side of the country because these attractively packaged teas can be purchased online by visiting the Harney's  website.  Realtors can also find the perfect closing gift at this site.

There are so many teas to choose from; herbal teas, teas to relax, decaffeinated teas, wedding teas to name a few.

Can you tell I am crazy about tea?

Jennifer, I'm seeing shops like this spring up all over the Orlando area.  I've been tempted to go in, but haven't yet, as my wife like you is crazy about tea.  We have about 30 different types in our house.  It was consumed a little more when we lived in Ohio during the cold winters though.

I can see that you like tea. Next time you go to an Indian restaurant try the Indian spiced tea.

Wow.  Beautiful shop.  That a commenter said they're in Orlando, maybe they'll make it up to Jacksonville and St. Augustine.  I love tea, and probably drink 2 to 3 cups of hot, and 5 to 10 glasses of iced-tea every day of my life.  It's about all I drink.  And I like it plain, no sugar and definitely no milk (like those wacky British).  Milk takes away all the flavor.  Thanks for the great post.  I rated you a 5.0!

Jennifer, I don't know if I would call you crazy about tea, but I might say that about the guy who traveled across country to that tea room :)

I do love tea, and in fact I drink ice tea year round so I might just have to take a trip there.

I recently stop drinking coffee and now have become somewhat of a big fan of tea. Thanks for sharing.

Tea is my drink of choice. There are many many variations in teas. This store is wise to offer a tea tasting.

Hi Jennifer,
I wish I were more tea savey, I drink it occasionally but have never developed a taste for it.  This shop is just beautiful and a great draw for the town.  Good post and information.

Jennifer,

Now I know where a gift of teas complete with teapot came from last Mother's Day. It makes having tea and event and a great conversatio piece for my guests. Each teabag opens up into a flower right before your eyes in a transparent pot. We watch it flower and brew then drink it.

Love tea, love your post.

Marchel - This place has it all and I am sure you would enjoy the experience.

Lola - You never know, maybe someday you will find yourself in this part of the country.

Vicki - The good thing about this place is that you can order a variety of product online, so although you are far away you can sill enjoy these teas.

George - I agree; that guy is really crazy about tea.  When you come this way again you now have another interesting place to check out.

Christopher - I know I commented on your comment before but now I don't see it.  Anyway the tea room might be popping up all over the place which is great for tea companies as well as tea drinkers.  What is different about this place is that they blend their own teas  and sell to others.

Patsy- I drink my tea both ways, You are too funny, I actually like my tea just like the British.  I was recently told by someone British that the milk actually acts as a protective coating.

Derrick - Welcome to the tea club.

Rosario  This store has everything and tea tasting is a smart business tool.  After tasting people usually buy more cans of tea.

Cynthia -  If a tea tasting place come to your town maybe you would get into it more.  There are so many varieties and what you see in the supermarket does not do tea justice.

Eloise - I know you too would appreciate tea. This company does offer some wonderful gifts on line.  Tea makes a classy closing gift.

Jennifer,

WOW, your area seems to have some great attractions!  We don't have many tea tasting events here, but we've got wine tasting, lol.  I love the way your blogs are so inviting for others to want to visit!
