These Geese were originally on the bank but went in the water as I approached

I was having breakfast in the diner next door when I noticed all these geese flying in. From that point on all I did was watch these birds. This looks like some sort of convention or better yet I found the missing Canadian Geese.

Thank you for sharing. It reminded me that I had seen a huge amount of snow geese while driving this afternoon. the groups of them looked like angels flying across the sky.
Heh! I thought they were ALL here in Phoenix for the winter - we have a TON at our community park/late across the street!

Jennifer, by the looks of the number of geese in that picture, you didn't just find some of the Canadian geese, you found all of them ......... LOL
Wow -- now that is a lot of geese. We have some of them here in NH too! I guess they do get around.
Nice photo Jennifer! I see you have a little snow! We don't have any yet in Massachusetts!
Jennifer, that's a good sized gaggle if I've ever seen one. The flying V's aren't seen too much around here except with the flocks of periodic pelicans. Never that many though!
My homeowner and I were talking about that just today. I saw a huge number of them yesterday and she mentioned that she'd never seen so many as she saw right behind her house today. Maybe they're trying to tell us something.
Jennifer - I'm with George on his comment....I've seen a number them flying around here but you hit the jackpot with how many you have in upstate NY.
Hi Jennifer...We have Canadian Geese here at Lake Anna. We also have loon and blue heron...lots of wildlife. It' wonderful. I'm glad you do too.
Kate
Didn't know they were missing Jennifer, nice pictures how was breakfast?
Jennifer,
Maybe they're in town for their late fall convention. :)
Steve
Great Pics!
Nature at its finest.
Howdy and evening to you Jennifer
Jennifer, you sure did take three mighty fine photos to share with everyone.
Have a good one
Dale in New Hampshire
My last house was on a lake and I used to love to watch the geese take off...great photos
Sorry I posted and then fell asleep. I had no idea anyone would be remotely interested in my geese encounter :)
JoAnn These really put on a show, I watch them landing, take off, and you are right, the formation as they flew was beautiful.
Sharon they do seem plentiful this year
George it sure looked that way:)
Joan they sure do.
Michele yes we had a little. I am hoping it will not be too snowy this winter.
Kevin it was even more than the camera picked up. Watching them land was my entertainment while having breakfast.
Geri hopefully they are telling us it will be a mild winter :)
Donna and that is why I said I found the missing Canadian Geese. You had to be there to really appreciate it.
Kate Lake Anna sounds more exciting to me. I love the blue heron but rarely see one.
Dee Yes from Canada :)
Steve that was the first title I came up with. It sure looked like a convention and I had a front row seat watching the delegates arrive.
Michael nature wins every time.
Dale thank you, so glad they were appreciated.
Brian I suspect if you are near a body of water there will be a lot of birds.
This week at the Chamber meeting the speaker got on the subject of bids and told the story of a women who was creative and won a contract to chase the geese away from a lake. How would she accomplish the task? She walks dogs for a living so she would just walk them around the lake, sounds like a wining strategy to me.
Have a great day everyone, and thanks for stopping by.
Jennifer I always find it amazing how all these birds travel so well together:)
Jennifer - What a show! It's amazing you found this many in one place. Great photo's.
Jennifer, they woke me up the other morning because they were honking away in the air- something had them excited- must have been conversation about their trip to the lake in your area!
Jennifer, I've seen them traveling in groups and it always looks like a choreographed formation.
Jennifer, what are these fellows thinking? They should be somewhere a whole lot closer to Florida by this time!
Ooops. Those geese don’t have nationalities, so they are not Canadian geese. They are Canada geese. J
Best wishes for lots of fun and food with family and friends today. Hope Santa brought you some cool toys, too!
Hi Jennifer. That's a heck of a flock of geese! What a nice rest stop you provided for them.
Aloha!
Nice pictures Jenn. I thought they had all left the area already!
Did you ever discover them, Jennifer. Since our area planning commission has mandated retention ponds for new businesses and housing additions we have massive populations of geese that stay all year round in West Lafayette. They love the nearby corn and bean fields as well at harvest time and through the winter!
