Ginger ice-cream at Sundae School

Ginger ice-cream at Sundae SchoolSundae School

I was looking at my photos, when I ran across this one and  I  immediately started thinking of ginger ice-cream.  Okay when I am on vacation I am always on the lookout for rum raisin ice-cream.   I don't have it often, but most of the ones on the market don't make the cut so I am always searching.

This place is Sundae School in  Harwich on the Cape.  As you can tell from the picture it is a popularSundae School ice-cream spot for vacationers. I was hoping to get my rum raisin but that particular day they had none.  I took a long time looking at the menu and finally decided on ginger ice-cream as an alternative.  The truth is,  I did not know what to expect, however I was rather pleased with it.

So if you are ever in Harwich stop by Sundae School and try one of their ice-cream; if ginger ice-cream does not appeal to you there are many other flavors.

Jennifer, I have never tasted ginger ice cream. Next time I'm around the Hudson Valley, I'll have to try some at Sundae School.

I Loooove ginger ice cream!!

Do you know there is a city called Gilroy, California that is known as the garlic capital of the world.

They actually have garlic ice cream there!

I've never tried it, but I'm very afraid.............

hi Jen, I haven't had rum raisin in ages but thx for the reminder! Ginger ice cream is totally new to me but actually sounds like something I'd try. Have a great weekend!

Patrick thank you.  I too hope your Sunday will be pleasant.

Marie It was done just so.   All the ice-cteams are homemade.   This is not in the Hudson Valley but on Cape Cod.

Ralph it is right up there with rum raisin.  Garlic ice-cream would not make the cut.

Marti I grew up with rum raisin ice-cream and I rarely find a really good one.  Sundae School used just the right amount of ginger.  I have a feeling you would like it.

Have a great Sunday too.

Ginger and rum raisin?  I'm a basic vanilla or chocolate girl here.  Boring.  Okay, I really promise to take one of those little tiny spoon samplings next time I go into an ice cream store.

How cool is that? I had ginger ice cream once, and it was GREAT. And, last night when I was shopping I saw some, too. I almost bought it, but I had this unrelenting urge for Ben & Jerry's Coffee Heath Bar crunch, so I had to solve that urge.

Ginger ice cream sounds good but I've never had any.  I'd like to try some, and I'm even curious about that garlic ice cream that Ralph mentioned!
