Wordless Wednesday-Even a stone walls will get my attention
Yesterday I was out previewing homes for an out of town buyer client. I was out in a beautiful area of Dutchess County, and as I went down this road which seem to go on and on. I saw many stone walls, some had the very perfect flat stones and were very nice to look at, and really enhanced curb appeal for those properties.
Then I saw this stone wall and it got my attention. I really like also sorts of rock and this wall featured rocks of different shapes and sizes, so naturally I found it to be more interesting, wouldn't you agree?
Have you ever considered building a stone wall? These days help is just a click away.

Hi Jennifer... there really is an art form in stacked stone walls! This is definitely a cool looking one!
I love to think of all the hard work that went into making a wall like this - the effort in clearin the fields and putting the wall together to last for generations - really lovely!
Steve it is an art form, nothing worst than a stonewall coming apart, and I do see those :)
Jennifer, it really takes a lot of talent and a great eye to do work like that. Masons are artists in their own right!
Jennifer, I've built two stone walls and love the work. It takes forever. I've taken pictures of about 50 walls of all differnet kinds and have been considering a post on it someday. Here's the dry stacked wall I did in front of our house.
Lise building a stone wall is labor intensive, however when done right it can last for generations.
Bruce you are right the person building a stone wall need to have a good eye, so I need not apply :)
Glen your wall is lovely, you are creative. I have shots of all sorts of walls but I would love to see your stone wall post.
I love all the stone walls throughout New England. It really is not easy to do. I tried to repair our stone wall and it took a lot of trial and error!
Jennifer,
It's always good to take shots where you're working with clients, also it gives you a special touch as a real estate researcher :) good shot !
I think stone walls add a lot to give a home warmth. You will see them here on the outside of homes. They also make beautiful fireplaces.
Hey Jennifer, I love the look of stone walls, I plan to support the front landscaping of my home with one. Nice photo and thanks for sharing :)
We have lots of these types of stone walls here and I have always found them attractive.
I like stone walls, especially when they look to be somewhat natural, the ones with the faux stone bricks arent as appealing.
I have seen lots of walls that were what I considered art, especially while living in Japan.
Jennifer, there are some great stone walls up and down the East Coast, especially in areas with farms.
I absolutely LOVE stone walls - you are definitely not alone in that! I love the elemental feel and each and every one has a different vibe because of the stones that are used!
I like the variety and complexity of the design. And it's a tribute to the workmanship that so many of these walls last forever.
Jennifer,
That is a beautiful stone wall. I like them and this is a good shot. :)
Steve
Good Morning Jennifer,
Thanks for the post. Have a great day.
Hi Jennifer, We don't have many stone walls that I have seen here, considering we are surrounded by rock it seems natural that there would be more. What a talent - I love the stone wall you selected and can't imagine the labor of love it must have taken to create it. Thanks Jennifer!
Jennifer, tthat has to be one of the most unique stone walls I have ever seen. We don't have a lot of stone walls and when we do the stones are always all uniform in size.
