Speechless Sunday-Dusk at Poet's Walk in Red Hook NY
Yesterday the weather was great, so after dining we decided to go for a walk at nearby Poet's Walk. On the trails we saw may who had similar ideas.
Poet's Walk is one of the many parks along the Hudson River operated by Scenic Hudson. This is a park where your appreciation for the natural environment can grow. A place where you will never grow tired of taking photographs.
We enjoyed the walk and loved seeing the Kingston Rhinecliff Bridge, the Hudson River and Catskill Mountains at dusk.
It would have been great to just forget about time however the park closes promptly at 8:30 and your car would be locked in. You should see everyone hurrying back along the trail hoping to make it before 8:30. We did, and then decided to go to the well known ice cream spot, Holy Cow where the line was around the block.
Yes we love to watch dusk at Poet's Walk.

Those are some great shots of the Hudson, very peaceful thanks for sharing and about the info for the walk too :)
Wow!!!!! Can you say Wow"????? Very awesome sunset indeed. Looks like a perfect Friday night. Gets you in the mood for a weekend. I hate these on Sunday b/c I know that I'm working the next day, so I'm saying that this is a Friday night shot!
Very appropriate name for the park - I can see the views inspiring MANY! Great photos, Jennifer and thanks for sharing them!
Sounds like everyone had the same idea for that evening. Your photos are just beautiful and Poets Walk looks like the perfect place to capture memories and photos like these. Nothing like some ice cream to end the evening!
I wanna go!!
Jennifer, these are so scenic! What a great place for a walk, especially when you have a camera in your pocket.
I've been pent up here in the burbs all week. It is scenes like those in your photos that make be wanna get the Hell outta Dodge!
Laura I know this is a walk you would really enjoy. You could make a day of it, visit Wilderstein, Montgomery Place and do the Poet's walk; and depending on the time of year catch one of the performance at the Fisher Center at Bard,
Sorry Larry this was actually a Saturday evening shot.
Jennifer,
This sounds like a very lovely part of your area - and one of which you are rightly proud. :)
Steve
Leesa the landscape here certainly has provided inspiration for many including Washington Irving

Lee and Carol Poet's walk never disappoints. Ice cream was good too :)
Joni come on up.
Pat I had a camera, but was out of disc space, time for a new card,
Myrl I am sure you will have great pictures from the burbs. You have a way of making everything look good.
Steve we are very fortunate to have some many wonderful public space.
Hi Jennifer... I am not sure which I would have been more excited about... the walk or the ice cream!
Jennifer, The park sounds like a great place to unwind and to get away from it all. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful pictures Jenn-do you ever do the bridge walk over the Hudson?
Great shots Jenifer!
Heyyy..so beautiful! You and I both love the Hudson river. I find it serene and inspiring, thanks for the lovely shots!
Love the pictures...
