Speechless Sunday- Sunset and blueberries are a few of my favorite things

Speechless Sunday- Sunset and blueberries are a  few of my favorite things

Earlier in the year I stood at this spot and took photographs of the sun setting at various stages.  You might be wondering how blueberries fit into this, well  if you look closely you might notice that this is a blueberry patch.

The colorful booth is where you purchase a bucket, then you are given directions as to where you should do the picking.  By now I would have picked my blueberries, however between the heatwave and just being busy I have not yet had a chance to do so.

Picking blueberries is a great family pastime and it is not uncommon to see 3 generations having fun together.

Yes sunset and blueberries are a few of my favorite things.

This is a beautiful photo Jennifer.  I have never gone blueberry picking.  Our Northern Ontario wild blueberries are probably ready now.  They are expensive but oh so good.  Have a great week.

Great photo Jennifer, I have not picked blueberry in years except in my own yard!

Beautiful picture and I just enjoyed some fresh blueberries this evening.  I can't scope out the blueberries in the photo but love the colorful booth.  It makes a perky stand out.

Nice picture.  Hope your town gets back to normal soon.  What a great bit of publicity.  I'm from Chappaqua - used to be known as Vanessa's William's hometown when I was growing up (and yes, I knew them),..or the mistake of "oh, is that where Ted Kennedy..."  Now, I guess everyone knows it for the Clintons.

Your post is bringing back memories Jennifer - we picked blueberries as kids and so did my girls when they were young (with grandma n grandpa so there were also 3 generations) God willing when my girls have children I hope to be around to repeat this fun pastime :)

Jenny I love the wild berries also, I put them all together and make a great pie.

Dan sounds like you are picking.  My son collects all sorts of wild berries right in our backyard.  Come winter I use them for his pancakes.

Robin this shot was taken just before the leaves came out.  I have to grab my video of blueberry picking with my son from You-tube and add it to this post.

Bill It is such a great food, I even like them frozen.

Leesa I am guessing you prefer strawberries.  You should try picking blueberries you will like it:)  I hope you had a good day.

Debbie so how come you weren't at the wedding?  I must say it was very orderly and less disruptive than was expected.

Grace it is a great family activity, a way to get the kids away from their electronic toys and discovery the outdoors instead :)

Jennifer--Yum fresh berries! Beautiful sunset photo and nice story. I have fond memories of eating picking strawberries with my family as a kid!

I love all the depths of that photo - the sunset, mountains, then the close ups of the buildings.  Great job.
