Speechless Sunday-If I only knew how to paint

If I only knew how to paint this is just the sort of scene I would like to capture on canvas.  Everyday I can truly say there is something that can put a smile on any face.

I recently posted about the plant sale, and the Red Hook Library Big Read event at Clermont State Park. Well, ths is a scene from Clermont.  The shot was taken the day of the plant sale, however, when I got home  I could not find the photos on the SD card which made me upset. A couple of days later they were there; therefore it is a real pleasure to share this.

A View from Clermont

Hi Jennifer, that is some wonderful view there, glad you found the photo! There is a view I need to stop and take a shot of, past Wingdale on Rt. 21. I just am breathless when I see it!

That would indeed be a scean to paint. And I am with you I wish I could too. ill's Aunt took it up when she retired 30 years ago and has goten very good we have 4 of her works on proud display now.  So yo are never too old to start, I am waiting for retirement ..

Andrea I know what you mean.  There are several spots in my area I would like to capture but it is too dangerous to pull over.  It is really beautiful out on Route 21.  If you do capture that scene, I am sure you will share with us.

Brenda- There are many folks who picked up painting later in life.  One example is Grandma Moses from Vermont.  It am better off just appreciating the work of others.

That's a big blue sky in your photo.  I'm sure that someone with the 'painting' skills will capture a similiar day - and maybe you can find that person a new home!  Thanks for sharing.

I wish I could paint too. This would be an awesome landscape to paint.

Jennifer,

I can't paint either but I have a program that transforms pictures into faux paintings.

I have always wanted to be able to paint. I admire the folks with the talent.  Your picture is beautiful.

Jennifer, it is a great landscape!  Beautiful photo!  I take solace in the fact that I can usually take pretty good photos, anything beyond stick figures is out of my skill set as far as painting or drawing goes!

Perfect title. And so true. This would make a perfect painting. I love the depth.

That photo is very cool!  It has six layers from front to back, do you see that?  (I'm sure there is an artistic term, but layer is the best I can do on short notice!)

Very nice and I suggest you buy some inexpensive paints and canvas and try it.  You may surprise yourself.

You may not be painting but through your eyes we can all see the beauty of this landscape.

Jennifer,

Who needs paint when you have a camera? I'm much better on film than canvas. :)
