Wordless Wednesday-The Palisades in Rockland NY
The Palisades can be found along the Hudson river. This unique rock formation is made up mostly of sill diabase.
The Palisade is listed as a National Natural Landmarks and I can see why.
If you can recall my series of bridge shots from the Metro-North train this too was taken that same day.
Yes there is so much to explore, just look around .

I like the comparison to a waterless waterfall. I went to school with someone from the Kingston area and she always raved about how scenic it is. I'll need to consider a visit to the area. Thanks for a great photo!

Jennifer I have heard of the Palisades before, but I think this is the first time that I have seen a picture of them.
