Wordless Wednesday - Horses in the snow- it must be the view

Horses in the snow. I would think a warm barn would be more inviting but the attraction must be the view of the beautiful Catskill Mountains.

Here in the mid-hudson Valley you can find many horse farms, some big and others just having one or two horses.

For some looking for second homes, the romantic idea of owning horses and being able to ride them is a big thrill.  On a few occasions, I have even encountered riders taking a trot down the middle of a country lane.

Horses in the snow it must be the view

Stunning scenery.  Those horses have a great view but it looks like they may need a blanket:)

Hi Jen, Lovely! Nothing like a Hudson Valley Horse farm. How you doing with the storm today... is it over?

I have always wondered why horses around here would be standing in the pasture instead of in the shelter of the loafing sheds.  Odd indeed.

Jennifer,

That is a very nice corral shot. Maybe the horses just needed to cool their heels - so to speak. :)

Jennifer, even the horses like running around in the snow, and it looks like those guys had lots of room to do that.

It was a perfect day for such a picture, Jennifer...the sky was nearly clear and brightly blue, and the mountains in the background were a nice touch to the snowy foreground and horses  moving about. Very nice and captivating photo.

Nothing better than horses in the snow except horses in the snow with the sun shining and you lucked out on all accounts.
