Speechless Sunday - What a difference a season makes

Spring Lake, Red Hook NY

This is a small lake in Upper Red Hook in New York.  Along the banks can be found vacation homes and during the summer you will see people out on the lake in row boats.Spring Lake, Red Hook, NY - Winter Scene

Here on Spring Lake during the winter when the lake is frozen I have seen people ice fishing or just walking across the ice, something I could never do because I remember the surface was water just weeks ago.

Jennifer, I wouldn't walk across it, either!  But boy, it certainly does look different.  It's a lovely lake and so are the homes around it!

LOL Jennifer, I won't walk on that stuff either! I was watching people ice fishing yesterday, in 23 degree weather and who knows what the wind chill was - that's NUTS!

Jennifer, I can't wait for the first picture to be the season again.  That second picture looks all to familiar right now :)

Jennifer, I don't think that I would walk on the lake either.  I have gone ice fishing once and the ice would crack, it was unnerving to say the least!  I love the warm weather photo!  The Winter photo is a good photo, it just looks cold!

Good idea to take the contrast.  One would hardly believe it is the same place.

Stephanie I am with you.

Ginger sorry it has been cold in your area.  This winter is shaping up to be a rough one.  I like it best if I am inside looking out.

Have a great 2010.  Still have not made the brownies but will do so soon.

Karen - usually one or 2 brave souls engage in this activity.

Carole the closest I do get is rolling down my windows and taking a shot.

Debi that is exactly how I would describe it , but then again to each his own.

Darren Thank you.

George I know what you mean.  I can't wait to put away my shovel.

Tony and Darcy it is dangerous, people fall through the ice all the time.

Jane I took one shot yesterday then I remembered I had one from the summer so that is when I had the idea for the contrast.

Jennifer,

I'll take the lake in the top picture. You can have the ice and snow. Nice contrast. :)
