Speechless Sunday - Snow at sunrise

The first snowfall was such a pleasure, and I managed to enjoy it at different stages.

First I watched it fall and then I took pictures when it got dark.  This morning was exciting. I was just expecting to take more pictures and then I saw the moon, but, there was more. Next, came sunrise and I watched the effect of the sunlight on the snow.

This first snowfall reminded me why I love each season.

Jennifer,

The nice thing is that snow this time of year usually falls off the trees pretty quickly.  My sister called me last night and told me about the snow...bet you couldn't guess what I said!

Sara probably that you were glad you did not have to deal with it?

Jennifer, life is so full of surprises, and capturing it like you did with your camera, you just have to let it unfold.

Um just a little less diplomatic, I told her to keep it!  They are beautiful pictures nevertheless, there is such an amazing hush when it snows.  I do miss that part but not the cold and the mess.

Jennifer, it is beautiful when it snows.  We are expecting our first really big storm of the season tomorrow.  I just wish that I didn't have to drive in it!

Hi Jennifer,

I enjoyed your photos of your first snowfall!  We have not had our first snowfall yet...yesterday, it did snow all around us but missed the Solomons area here in Southern Maryland.  Thanks for sharing your photos with us.

Jennifer, looks like you guys got a lot more snow than we did.  We only got about an inch.

Jennifer, such a lovely picture of the snow on the trees.  I love it when the snow sticks to the trees.  It makes everything extra beautiful.  Everyone seems to have snow except for us in the Midwest!

Jennifer, Amazinglyy we got our first snowfall of the season also.  It was the first significant snowfall in 15 years.  We tried taking pictures but the snow didn't show up.  Farther south they had some accumulation but we did not.

I was so busy telling you about our big snowfall I forgot to tell you that your pictures are great.

Jennifer, I love the snow that gives you that frosty look in the early morning on all the trees and bushes. Those are some of the most picturesque. You did a great job with this sunrise series.

Looks like the east coast certainly saw the first snow and it definately is winter.  I love the photo with the sun on the trees... very nice.

That's beautiful, Jennifer.  I haven't seen the first snowfall since I was a kid, though.  We don't get that here in Southern California.  Thank you so much for sharing.

Hey Jennifer - beautiful first snow, wasn't it?  Your pictures show about what it looked like here too, we got only about an inch but it was the wetter kind that clung to the branches so beautifully!

Jennifer We, of course, had the same "fun" as you - it was great our first storm wasn't a knockout punch

George - I did not pay attention to the amount but it looked like 3 inches to me.

Sharon - That is strange that you don't have snow.  I too love the fluffy stuff on the the leaves and branches.

Marchel what is it about a first snow storm that excite us?  wished you had just a bit more snow, maybe you will get another chance.

Guy - I know exactly what you mean.  It was also fun that I had a chance to capture it at different stages.

Joan I can't believe I was able to get shots of the moon and snow and snow with the sun rising

Heather and that is why we share our photos so you can see what our world looks like at this time of year.

Lynda thank you.

Fred that is so true, even the air feels fresh.

Rich thank you.

Ann I too like the type that stick to the leaves.  The big problem is I left my car out and did not get out to clean off the snow and this morning it is now a frozen mess.

Karen - I agree

Jennifer,

Stunning shots. The snowfall by itself is great, but add in the sunrise - very nice. :)
