Guide to Hudson Valley Leaf Peeping

Don't get too excited; the leaves in the Hudson Valley have not peaked as yet.  This Photo was taken last year in Milan.

Fall is a season many look forward to, maybe, because it is the last chance for much outdoor activity before old man winter rears his head. So, here is my guide to leaf peeping in my part of the Hudson Valley.

There are really so many ways to enjoy the colorful foliage.  One spot that you should not miss is the Walkway Over the Hudson, with the Hudson River as part of the scenery you will be seeing the foliage along the river, and what an awesome sight that will be.

Another great way to take in the foliage would be by taking a cruise up or down the Hudson River. Catch The Pride of the Hudson Cruise in the Newburgh area or the Rip Van Winkle down in the Roundout in Kingston.

Last year, I took a ride on the Esopus Creek Train to see the foliage. This is a trip I am sure you will have fun on.  At the end you even get to tour the Empire State Railway Museum in Phonecia.

If you feel like driving to do your leaf peeping there are several fall foliage driving tours.

Some of you will want to know the best spot to do your leaf peeping so Here are the 10 top spots for leaf peeping in Dutchess County.

If you live in the city, all of this is less than 2 hours away, so will we look forward to seeing you watching our colorful leaves.
