You mean I can go fishing without a boat ?

When working with out of town homebuyers one of the things I do best is listen carefully to get a real sense of their interests and then make suggestions as to how to best connect with the community and the natural environment.
Recently, I worked with a couple and from several conversations I sensed that the husband really loved the outdoors and that this love was probably one of the reasons for moving to Dutchess County. So, I mentioned that there were many fishing opportunities in Dutchess County. The husband perked up, but, then mentioned that he did not have a boat and I reponded that a boat was not necessary.
You see, Dutchess County has many rivers, streams, and lakes and with just a hook and a line you could go fishing. Fishing is really an important sport in the area and each spring the rivers and lakes are stocked with trout by the DEC. The season opens on April first. One thing to keep in mind is that you just can't go fishing; you will need to get a permit or license depending on what you are doing. These permits can be obtained usually at the Town Clerk's office.
Before going fishing in Dutchess County you should also pay attention to special fishing regulations. So, you have a boat and you want to go out on the Hudson River? Have no fear, there are many marinas to launch from.
So, as you can see, your real estate agent can do much more than help you find a house. Pick a topic. I might just have a suggestion for you.
