8 Fun Fall Activities For The Kids

8 Fun Fall Activities For The Kids

There are so many fall activities for families to engage in.  This post however will concentrate on 8 fun fallFall Foliage activities involving leaves.

  1. Over the years I have seen families raking up the leaves into piles and then the kids would jump into the piles over and over again.  So this particular activity accomplishes two goals, cleaning up the yard and at the same time providing a fun outdoor activity for the kids.
  2. Take a nature walk and watch the leaves fall.  There are so many shades of color and a variety of shapes.  This is an opportunity to get to know the leaves from various trees.  Here is a list of some of the leaves you might want to collect.

Ash     Aspen     Birch      Cherry     Elm     Hickory    Maple     Oak    Willow

    3.  The leaves collected can then be pressed.

    4.  You could also have the kids make wreaths using the leaves.

    5.   The leaves could also be used in a fall centerpiece, maybe incorporating the branches.

    6.   Make note cards out of pressed leaves.  These personal notes are always well received.

    7.   Laminate craft work done with leaves.  You could probably make small coasters.

    8.   Show the kids how they can go green by starting a compost pile with the leaves.

So have fun as a family with your leaves before they disappear.
