The Town of Livingston can be found in Columbia County New York. It was named after Robert Livingston the first lord Of the Manor. The land grant was given in 1686 and the town was established in 1788. I have previously mentioned Mr. Livingston reference to his involvement with Robert Fulton and the steamboat. I have also written about his beautiful estate on the banks of the Hudson River in Clermont. This area is so rich in history it could keep a history enthusiast very busy.
This town has a population of just over 3424 according to the census. Here you can still find beautiful farmland. One of the Livingston's vacation home Teviotdale home was located here.
