Foreclosure is a word we can't escape. Today while conducting real estate transactions the question as to how many foreclosures are in a neighborhood often comes up. While you may know this information for a particular neighborhood in your market it is also interesting to look at larger areas.
Patchwork Nation is a site that will show you how many foreclosure there are per 1000 in a congressional district in any state.
- Go to www.patchworknation.org
- Below the map you will find categories; in this case you will want to chose housing
- Look to the right and chose Foreclosures per 1,000 HH Jan-July
- Then chose the state and the district you would like to view.
This site offers much more than foreclosure information. You can find out how many in a district make over $200,000, educational level, population etc.
So if you are not familar with this site I think you will find it an interesting source of demographic information.
