The Fisher Center is located at Bard College in the town of Red Hook.  This is an important cultural center in the community; and people come from all over to be entertained by variety of shows.

What’s happening at the Fisher Center this summer?

This summer like most summers, there is a lot going on at the Fisher Center;  something for everyone.

Bard Summerscape begins July 5th and run until August 18.  What is summerscape? it is seven weeks of  opera, film, music, theater and dance.

Opera

There will be 5 performances.

July 26th and August 2nd at  7PM

July 28th, 31st and August 4th at 3 PM

The opera is Orestia by Russian Composer – Sergey Taneyev

 Film

Stravinsky’s Legacy and Russian Emigre cinema

July  12-14  East to West -Russian Émigré cinema

July 19-21   Albatros Film

July 26-27 The Cinematic Legacy of  Stravinsky – Part 1

August 2-3  The Cinematic Legacy of Stravinsky – Part 2

Music

Stravinsky and his world

August 9-11

Becoming Stravinsky – St Petersburg to Paris

August 16-18 Stravinsky Reinvented  – Paris to Los Angeles

Dance

July 6- 8PM    and July 7 - 3PM

Two companies coming together to produce exciting dance movements. Brought to you by Bill T. Jones and Ann Bogart.

Theater

The Theater performances are scheduled for  July 11 – 14

Spiegeltent

July 5th-August 18th

Wine and dine and take in a show under the Spiegeltent

Where to get more information on Bard SummerScape at the Fisher Center

The Hudson Valley is a great place for outdoor fun in the summer; from pick your own fruit farms to sailing on the Hudson River, there is  so much to do.  It is also nice to know you don’t have to sacrifice cultural activities because you are out of the city.  At the Bard SummerScape website you will find more information on the performers, performances, time and price of each show.
